AQHA VS AHRA/IAHA/PAHR

I received an e-mail from SFax regarding the American Quarter Horse Associaton and a link to
their web site.  Upon visiting the AQHA web site some startling differences were noted.  Below you will find a comparison chart of the two organizations.  I don't know if I hit on all the areas but I will add whatever is
needed as I become aware of it.  Quite frankly, the AQHA is to be commended, while the supporting
Arabian Organizations prove how inept and expensive they really are.

Stallion
and Foal
Incentive
Programs

BREEDERS  INCENTIVE PROGRAM

1. Stallion owners enroll their
stallion each year before
November 30. Fees are
based on the  number of mares
on the previous year’s Stallion
Breeding Report. If this is the stallion’s first year  to breed,
his fee is $300.

2. His foals from that season
are eligible to be nominated to
the fund at a one-time fee for life.

The fee for his foals are $100 each before their  seven-month birthdate or $200 each before their 12-month birthdate, $2,000 before their 2nd.

Stallion Fees

2 Mares or less $300, 3-5 Mares $400
6 - 10 Mares $500, 11-15 Mares $600
16-20 Mares $700, 21-25 Mares $800
26-30 Mares $900, 31-35 Mares $1,000
36-40 Mares $1,100,  41-50 Mares $1,250
51-60 Mares $1,500 , 61-80 Mares $2,000
81-100 Mares $2,500
101 Mares or more .. $3,000

*Note - The ease of which AQHA's
program is administered deserves high marks.  It should also be noted that the fees are much more acceptable and are based on the amount of foals a stallion produces. This allows an owner to test the water for the worthiness of the program before having to commit to
a large entry fee day one.  Also note that eligible AHHA foals have up to their 7 month to enroll and at a figure 3 times less than what is required from IAHA.  In addition, IAHA elligible foals, must be nominated in utero.  In essence, you are forced to pay for a nomination of a foal sight unseen.
